Because we work on a schedule, the same crew comes back to your yard each time. They learn where the soft spots are, which corner holds water after a storm, and where the dog likes to dig. That knowledge is the reason we do not take one-off mowing jobs.

Weekly or biweekly mowing: which schedule fits your lawn
Grass grows fastest in late spring and again in early fall. On a weekly schedule we never have to take off more than about a third of the blade at once, which keeps the lawn green instead of scalped and brown at the tips. Weekly suits most fescue lawns in the growing season and anyone who wants the yard sharp all the time.
Biweekly works for smaller lawns, shady yards and slower-growing grass, and it costs less over a season. The trade-off is that growth between visits can be heavy in May and June, so the cut can look rougher for a day or two. We will tell you honestly at the estimate which schedule your yard can handle.

Why Charlotte lawns need steady care
Charlotte sits in the transition zone, where cool-season tall fescue and warm-season grasses like bermuda and zoysia both grow. Fescue stays green most of the year but struggles in July and August heat, so we raise the mowing height in summer to shade the roots and help it hold moisture. Bermuda and zoysia love the heat, want a lower cut, and go tan and dormant after the first hard frost.
Red clay adds its own problems. It packs down, drains slowly and turns slick after summer thunderstorms, so we avoid running heavy equipment across a soaked lawn and will shift a visit by a day when the ground is too wet to mow cleanly.
What we do through the seasons
Spring brings the first cuts and a clean edge to reset the lines after winter. Summer is about mowing height, sharp blades and not stressing the grass in the heat. Fall is the busiest time: the oaks and maples across Myers Park, Dilworth and SouthPark drop leaves for weeks, and we keep them from matting down on the lawn.

How we do it, step by step
Step 1
Mow at the right height
Each visit starts with a clean cut from a walk-behind mower, leaving tidy stripes across the lawn. We set the deck height for your grass and the season, higher for fescue in the summer heat.
Step 2
Edge the hard lines
We cut a crisp line where the lawn meets the driveway, walks and curb. The string trimmer then finishes the spots a mower cannot reach, around posts, beds and fences.
Step 3
Clear the walks
Before we leave, we blow grass clippings off the walkway, steps and drive so nothing gets tracked inside. You come home to clean paths as well as a cut lawn.
Step 4
Seasonal leaf clean-up
In the fall, visits include raking and clearing leaves so they do not smother the grass. We gather them onto tarps and clear them away, keeping the lawn open to light going into winter.

How much is lawn care per visit?
Lawn care starts at $55 per visit. Your exact price depends on lawn size, schedule and how much trimming and edging the yard needs.
Do you do one-time mowing?
No. We only take lawn care on a weekly or biweekly contract, which lets us keep the same crew on your yard.
What happens if it rains on my mowing day?
We move the visit to the next dry day, usually within a day or two. Mowing soaked clay leaves ruts and a ragged cut, so waiting gives a better result.
Do I need to be home for visits?
No. We just need access to the yard, so leave gates unlocked on your day and let us know about any gate codes.
Is it safe for my dog?
Yes. We only mow, trim and clear, so there is nothing applied to the grass. Please keep pets inside while we work and pick up the yard beforehand.
When does the mowing season start and end?
Most Charlotte lawns need regular cutting from about March into November. We agree the start and end of your contract at the estimate, with fall visits shifting to leaf clean-up.
